Basaka syrup is a combination of herbs effective in treating irritable dry cough and productive cough. It is well-tolerated, safe, and non-sedating with potent anti-allergic and anti-asthmatic properties. The syrup is sugar-free, suitable for all patients, and effective for both children and adults. It is free from side effects such as drowsiness, constipation, and dryness of the mouth.
- Adhatoda vasica: Contains vasicine and vasicinone, which soothe throat irritation and act as an expectorant.
- Glycyrrhiza glabra: Contains glycyrrhizin, used as a cough expectorant and for sore throats.
- Zingiber officinale: Used in the treatment of cold, asthma, and bronchitis, with antiviral activity against human respiratory syncytial virus.
- Cinnamomum zeylanicum: Contains phenolic compounds and flavonoids with antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.
- Elettaria cardamomum: Contains various compounds with antiseptic, expectorant, anti-spasmodic, and antioxidant properties.
- Piper longum: Contains piperine, which suppresses cough, and other constituents helpful for chronic bronchitis, cough, and asthma.
- Terminalia chebula: Used for fever, cough, diarrhea, gastroenteritis, and skin and wound infections.

✔️ Dosage & Administration
- Children under 12 years: 1-2 teaspoonfuls (5-10 ml) 3 times daily
- Adults: 3 teaspoonfuls (15 ml) 2-3 times daily or as directed by the physician
- In acute cough: Warm water can be added for better results. Take as directed by a registered physician.
